Paradiddle Accent Control
This lesson is to be used in conjunction with the “Micro Time 1” chain from the “Timing Chains” Rhythm Pack.
The purpose of the following exercises is to help solidify your internal clock and improve your ability to hear different accents within a span of time.
These exercises are deceptively simple but they can be challenging. I recommend going slow, say 60bpm or so and really pay attention to the hand motion of the accents against the click.
We are simply going to play the 16th Note Alphabet as accents on top of a paradiddle sticking structure.
If you are not familiar with having the click on the “e” this can be a pain. A worth while pain, mind you.
Repeat each accent position until you can seamlessly do them against the shifting click. Once that is achieved then try running the entire exercise.
